Final track of this concept album, and there is a premise: the track "Demoghilas" has always been the sequel of this album. As "Your candle of life" was the awakening of the main vengeful character, "The greatest rival" the fight with his loyal nemesis, "Vengeance on all" his payback time and "I want them dead" his fall to the darker side of the dark side, this one is his last action: with his enemies dead for good, there is only one more enemy left. Himself.
As the others die screaming, he is forsaken and goner, still happy because he gained his revenge and is about to obtain his final sleep of joy, while he dies laughing.
In the storyline time, when the character does not actually vanish, but is finally overpowered by his own dark side, who will take his mind and body.

The song is strongly inspired and dedicated to Kefka Palazzo, the main villain from "Final Fantasy VI", the Joker of the "Final Fantasy" saga. There are so many elements that make people think to him: the void, life, dreams and hope banished forever and, obviously, the title itself: "Goner" and "Forsaken" are the names of his last fatal attack in the game.

Other homages are about "Final Fantasy IX" (the place explained in the song is inspired by the Hills of Despair, the last dungeon in the game) "Stephen King's IT" (the dead light that mocks life) and Darth Vader when he "borns" in his armour (when he opens his eyes and see the world through a horrible display, but maybe the display is perfect and the world is horrible) narrated in the "Revenge of the Sith" novel.
